Saronic Ferries Schedules 2026

Five ships, five harbours, and a fare structure built for people who make this crossing every week. Saronic Ferries runs the conventional car ferries from Piraeus to Aegina, Souvala (Aegina's second port), Agistri, Methana and Poros — the places close enough to Athens that a great many Athenians keep a house on one of them.

The fleet

All five are passenger/car ferries rather than fast craft, which is why they carry so much more than the hydrofoils on the same water. Apollon Hellas takes 1,380 passengers and 100 vehicles on a 92-metre hull; Phivos is longest at 100 m with 1,200 passengers and 120 cars; Achaeos (87 m) has the biggest garage at 140 vehicles for 1,000 passengers; Poseidonas (86 m, 1,100 passengers, 80 cars) and Antigone (77 m, 1,150, 90) complete the roster.

Times and fares from Piraeus

Aegina is 1 hour 10 minutes and €12.00 per passenger, €29.00 with a car up to 4.5 m. Souvala is €11.00 (€23.00 with a car), Agistri 1:35 at €13.50 (€32.00), Methana 2:10 at €14.80 (€34.00), Poros 2:40 at €17.00 (€35.00). Motorbikes are cheap by comparison — €7.00 to €9.00 under 250 cc on the Piraeus routes.

Island-to-island legs are cheaper again: Aegina–Agistri is €4.00 (€9.00 with a car), Methana–Poros €5.00, Aegina–Methana €8.00, Aegina–Poros €11.00.

Who pays less

Half price for Greek university students and ISIC card holders, for passengers with a disability rated above 80%, and for children aged 5 to 10. Under-5s travel free. Return trips taken Monday to Friday carry a further 30% discount — the company is pricing deliberately against the weekend crowd.

The Bonus Card, and its fine print

Four return tickets completed and the fifth round trip is free, for passengers or for a car. Registration is instant online. But the conditions matter: credit accrues only on tickets bought from Saronic Ferries' own offices — at Piraeus, Aegina, Agistri, Methana and Poros — or its own website, not through third-party agents. You may register up to four passenger tickets and one car per use, one return trip per day, and the card works only on routes starting or ending at Piraeus — not on the island-to-island legs such as Aegina–Agistri. Modifying a ticket that has the card applied counts as having used it for that day.

Boarding

Online check-in opens 48 hours ahead and an e-ticket is enough to board — worth using in July and August, when the Piraeus gates for the Saronic are among the busiest in Greece. If you don't know your return time, free Bonus Card tickets can be issued at the ticket office on the island instead.
