About
About P&O Ferries
P&O Ferries is one of the best-known ferry operators between Britain and the Continent. Carrying the heritage of the historic P&O shipping company (founded 1837), the modern ferry business was formed in 2002 and has been owned by Dubai's DP World since 2019.
Channel, North Sea and Irish Sea
Its busiest route is Dover–Calais across the English Channel; overnight cruise-ferries link Hull with Rotterdam across the North Sea, and a further service crosses the Irish Sea from Cairnryan to Larne. Freight routes run from Tilbury and Teesport to Zeebrugge.
Fleet and fares
On Dover–Calais the new double-ended Fusion-class ships P&O Pioneer and P&O Liberté (2023) are battery-hybrid and can manoeuvre in port on battery power alone; the North Sea route uses the big cruise-ferries Pride of Hull and Pride of Rotterdam, which carry cabins as standard. Fares are in pounds or euros and vary by route, season and vehicle.
