Nankai Ferry crosses the Kii Channel between Wakayama on Honshu and Tokushima on Shikoku — the sea route that parallels the long drive around through Kobe and the Awaji bridges.

Two booking rules worth knowing

First: two-wheelers cannot be booked online. Motorcycles and bicycles must be arranged another way, which is a real constraint on a route popular with touring riders. Second: telephone booking exists — Wakayama on 073-422-2156, Tokushima on 088-636-0750 — but the company states plainly that enquiries in English, Chinese or Korean cannot be handled by phone. The website itself is published in all five languages; the phone line is not.

Reduced sailings

The operator announced a partial reduction in the sailing schedule in July 2026. Check current departures rather than an older timetable, and note that the tie-up discount campaign with Jalan and Rakuten Travel ended on 27 July.

Parking charges at the Wakayama office changed in July 2026. Live sailing status — including suspended and cancelled departures — is published on the front page, which on a channel crossing exposed to Pacific weather is the first thing to check.
