About

About Aegean Flying Dolphins

Aegean Flying Dolphins runs three high-speed craft across two Greek seas that have nothing to do with each other. From Piraeus it sails daily to Aegina and Agistri in the Saronic Gulf. From Volos, several hundred kilometres north, it runs daily itineraries to Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos in the Sporades.

Agistri has two harbours

Worth knowing before you book: the company's departure list distinguishes Aggistri (Skala) from Aggistri (Myloi). Skala is the main harbour on the north-east coast; Myloi (Megalochori) is a couple of kilometres west. Sailings do not all use the same one, and the walk between them is not trivial with luggage.

The Sporades side

The northern network calls at Volos, Skiathos, Glossa (on Skopelos's north-west coast), Skopelos town, Agnontas and Alonissos, with Agios Konstantinos as a second mainland gateway. It is a completely separate operation with its own timetable and price list — the same company, but do not expect a through ticket from one network to the other.

Fast craft, and what that means

Hydrofoils and high-speed catamarans trade deck space for time: no vehicles, foot passengers only. They are also the first services withdrawn when the wind gets up, so in unsettled weather the conventional ferries on the same routes are the more reliable option. The Aegina to Agistri hop takes about ten minutes.

Booking and contact

The office is at Akti Miaouli 7-9 in Piraeus, with a call centre on +30 210 4121654 open Monday to Thursday, 10.00–16.00 Greek time. Reservations go through the company's own site, and it operates a loyalty scheme called the myDolphin card. Timetables and fares are not published as static pages — you need to run a date through the booking form.
