About the Visovac – Roški slap crossing
This is not a scheduled ferry. Visovac and Roški slap both lie inside Krka National Park on the Krka River in Dalmatia, and the boat that links them is a guided park excursion operated by the national park authority (Javna ustanova “Nacionalni park Krka”), not a public transport ferry. There is no fixed ferry timetable, no route number and no vehicle deck, and it cannot be booked as a point-to-point crossing.
The excursion is a roughly two-hour round trip that departs from the Roški slap landing, sails upriver and through the narrow Među grede canyon, and stops at the tiny island of Visovac for about half an hour of guided sightseeing before returning to Roški slap. Visovac is home to a Franciscan monastery and the church of Our Lady of Mercy, both more than five centuries old, set among cypresses and a walled garden; the visit is accompanied by a park informant. A separate, longer excursion (about four hours) runs from Skradinski buk via Visovac to Roški slap, combining the same island stop with the waterfalls.
These excursions run seasonally, in daylight hours only (typically with last departures in the early afternoon), and depend on group numbers and water conditions. Tickets are sold on site at the park reception and are charged in addition to the national-park entrance fee, which itself already covers the internal boat transfer from Skradin to Skradinski buk.
