About the Sali – Zaglav crossing
Sali and Zaglav sit within a few kilometres of each other on the sheltered south-eastern coast of Dugi Otok, the long, thin island that shields the Zadar archipelago from the open Adriatic. Sali is the island's largest settlement and administrative centre, a working fishing town with a harbour, konobas and the trailheads for nearby Telašćica Nature Park. Zaglav is far smaller — barely a hamlet gathered around its harbour — but that harbour is one of the island's principal passenger-ferry landings, which is why the two ports are so closely linked.
How the connection works
There is no dedicated Sali–Zaglav boat. Instead the two ports are consecutive calls on the same Zadar passenger catamaran line, so you ride one leg of that route to hop between them. The relevant services are the year-round passenger fast-ferry lines 406 and 9406, run from Zadar by G&V Line Iadera and TP Line. These are foot-passenger catamarans; they do not carry cars. Drivers bound for Dugi Otok instead use the separate Jadrolinija car ferry from Zadar (Gaženica) to Brbinj further north on the island.
