About the Nesoddtangen – Lysaker brygge crossing
Eight minutes across the Lysakerfjord, twenty-seven times a day. Line B11 is the shorter of the two Nesodden boats — the other runs to Aker brygge in central Oslo and takes closer to twenty-three — and it exists to put commuters at Lysaker, where the trains and the office parks are.
Weekdays only, and Friday gets extra
Twenty-three departures run Monday to Friday, from 06:30 to 17:01. Four more run on Fridays alone, spread from 07:30 to 16:30. There is no Saturday or Sunday service at all on this pairing.
Two and a half nautical miles
The distance is short and the schedule is dense through the morning and late afternoon, which is the signature of a service contracted as public transport rather than run for its own sake. Fares and tickets are the same system as the buses and trains on either shore.
Departure times are not round
A last boat at 17:01 rather than 17:00 is a timetabling artefact: the sailing is timed against connections at Lysaker station, not against the clock. The current plan runs to 11 December 2026.
