Mini Ferry Playa Blanca to Corralejo Ferry

The mini ferry between Playa Blanca (Lanzarote) and Corralejo (Fuerteventura) covers the same short hop across the Bocayna Strait as the big fast ferries, but it is a different kind of service. It is operated by Líneas Romero, a family-run Canarian company better known for its La Graciosa and coastal excursion boats, using smaller high-speed craft aimed squarely at foot passengers.

How it differs from the fast ferry

This is the honest distinction: the mini ferry is passenger-only. Líneas Romero's boats normally do not carry cars, motorbikes or campervans, so if you are travelling with a vehicle you need the Fred. Olsen Express or Naviera Armas service instead. In exchange, the mini ferry tends to be the cheaper walk-on option, with one-way fares often starting around 17 euros and a lighter, more informal boarding experience. Luggage is limited to roughly 20 kg of carry-on per person, which suits day-trippers rather than people relocating with heavy bags.

Crossing time, frequency and ports

The crossing itself is just as quick, at about 25 minutes port to port. Líneas Romero runs up to around five sailings a day in each direction, fewer than the fast-ferry operators, so the timetable is worth checking before you plan a return day trip. Departures use the same harbours: Playa Blanca's town quay and Corralejo's central port, both an easy walk from the resorts, shops and beaches.

Who it suits

The mini ferry is ideal if you are on foot and want the lowest fare for a beach day, a shopping trip or a walk on Corralejo's dunes, and it pairs naturally with Líneas Romero's other routes, including boats onward to Isla de Lobos and La Graciosa. If you need guaranteed frequent departures, a car deck, or a larger vessel for a rougher day, the fast ferry is the better choice. For a simple, budget-friendly island hop with just a daypack, the mini ferry does the job at a lower price.
