About the Granville Island Aquabus Ferry Dock – Hornby Aquabus Ferry Dock crossing
The Aquabus's best-known hop: Granville Island to the Hornby Street dock at the foot of downtown, a crossing of a few minutes that runs every 15 minutes or less through the day.
Why this is the one everyone takes
It links the public market and craft breweries of Granville Island directly with the downtown peninsula, so it carries tourists and commuters in roughly equal measure. It is the shortest useful line across False Creek and the reason the rainbow boats became a Vancouver postcard.
⚠ Check the tide at Hornby
At extremely low tide the ramp at the Hornby Street dock can become very steep and effectively inaccessible. The operator says so plainly and asks you to call ahead if you are unsure — worth doing if you are using a wheelchair or pushing a stroller.
