About the Den HelderTexel crossing

Twenty-two of the twenty-eight departures run every day, from 07:30 through to a last boat at 21:30. The other six are the interesting part: a 06:30 Monday to Saturday, a 09:00 on Saturdays, and 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00 that run only on Fridays and Sundays.

The weekend-shaped extras

From 07:30 to 16:30 the all-week boats run every half hour, on the hour and the half. After that the :00 slots drop out for five days of the week and survive only on Fridays and Sundays — the two evenings people travel to and from the island for a weekend. Tuesday evening is hourly; Friday evening is not.

Twenty minutes across the Marsdiep

2.5 nautical miles from the naval town of Den Helder to 't Horntje on Texel, the largest of the Dutch Wadden islands. TESO has run this crossing since 1907 and it carries vehicles as well as foot passengers.

8 August to 17 November 2026

A fourteen-week listing. The half-hourly core is the part that survives a reissue; the Friday and Sunday extras are seasonal.
