The Tung Chung service is a single sailing a day. It leaves Tuen Mun at 07:00, arrives 23 minutes later, and the only return is at 07:30 — after that the connection does not exist again until the next morning.

Tai O is the opposite: seven departures spread from 08:00 to 17:30 with an extra 09:15 at weekends, six coming back between 09:30 and 19:00, each taking 53 minutes down the west coast of Lantau. Fortune Ferry operates both.

Tuen Mun is a new town of several hundred thousand people in the western New Territories, connected to the rest of Hong Kong by rail and road and to Lantau by this small ferry.
