Ferries from Strandbukta hurtigbåtkai

Strandbukta's two calls are 1.4 and 2.0 nautical miles: Visten at five to ten minutes, Kilvågen at 10 to 15. Eight sailings a week on the busier legs, one on the others, across four day patterns.

The Kilvågen sailing at 17:45 ends in late September while the rest of the service continues to the end of the year — a summer call on a winter route.

This is the Vistenfjord in Vevelstad, a long arm running into the mountains of the Lomsdal-Visten national park, where the settlements at the inner end have never had a road. Several were abandoned in the twentieth century. The boat that still calls at the remaining quays is a lifeline in the literal sense — without it the fjord's inner shore would be reachable only on foot over the mountains.
