Ferries from Skutvik ferjekai

The car ferry from Skutvik crosses the Vestfjorden to Lofoten in exactly two hours — 21.9 nautical miles to Svolvær, ten sailings a week, with Skrova at 17.6 miles taking 105 to 120 minutes.

The whole service ends on 31 August. This is a summer route: for the rest of the year the crossing to Lofoten from here does not run at all.

Skutvik has a second quay a few metres away, the hurtigbåtkai, which handles the fast passenger boats on a different timetable and different destinations — the two are listed separately here because a vehicle and a foot passenger do not use the same berth. Until the Lofast road link opened in 2007, this ferry was one of the main ways of getting a car to Lofoten; it now carries a fraction of what it did.
