Ferries from Røa brygge

The same 4.3 nautical miles to Synnervika takes 45 minutes going out and 30 coming back. Femundshytta, 3.3 miles the other way, is a flat 30 in both directions.

Ten sailings a week to Synnervika between 14:15 and 16:30; seven to Femundshytta on a single 09:30 departure. The day divides neatly — one leg in the morning, the other in the afternoon.

A fifteen-minute difference on the same stretch of a mountain lake usually comes down to the calls made along the way rather than the wind, though at 660 metres up with 60 kilometres of open water to the north, Femunden can produce a sea that a small vessel has to work against. Røa is a pier without a village, serving the cabins and the walking routes on the western shore.
