Ferries from Revsnes ferjekai

Revsnes runs one crossing, 32 active sailings, twenty minutes across the Gullesfjord to Flesnes — and it is one of the links that stitches the Vesterålen road network together where the fjords cut it apart.

The crossing

Revsnes to Flesnes takes about 20 minutes, with 16 sailings in our timetable and 32 across the quay in both directions. Operated by Svipper, the Troms county transport brand.

That is roughly one an hour, with gaps. On a route where the alternative is a long detour round the head of the fjord, the hour matters — and the last departure is earlier than a northern summer evening suggests.

What it connects

The Gullesfjord cuts deep into the Hinnøya landmass, and this crossing is the short way across it. Without the ferry, traffic between the Kvæfjord district and the roads south takes the long way round the fjord head.

Hinnøya is the largest island in Norway proper, and its road network depends on a handful of crossings like this one.

What is at the quay

A slipway, a waiting lane and the road. There are no services at either end worth planning around — Harstad to the north and Sortland to the west are the nearest towns.

Year round. Winter weather in the Vesterålen fjords cancels sailings, and on a once-an-hour service that is felt immediately.
