Ferries from Punta Sabbioni

Punta Sabbioni is the mainland end of the ferry across the lagoon mouth to Lido S. Nicolò, 28 sailings running 00:05 to 23:25 on a 25-minute crossing. It sits at the tip of the Cavallino peninsula, a strip of campsites and beach resorts that in summer holds tens of thousands of holidaymakers, and for them this is the direct water route into Venice without driving round the whole lagoon. The terminal has a large car park because most arrivals are by road. Service continues overnight, thinly, for the seasonal workers who live on the peninsula and work in the city. The crossing enters the lagoon through the Lido inlet, passing the MOSE flood barrier gates that now sit in the channel mouth.
