In the South Pacific Ocean, a single domestic ferry route connects the island of Pitcairn with Mangareva. This service is the sole scheduled passenger sea link to the territory.
The Pitcairn Government’s vessel operates the long-distance crossing. The journey to Mangareva, the administrative centre of the Gambier Islands in French Polynesia, has a duration of about 48 hours.
