Ferries from Mytilini

Mytilini is the capital and main port of Lesvos, the large north-eastern Aegean island close to the Turkish coast, with 11 sailings on the 140-minute crossing to Chios — first boat at 03:00, last at 21:45. Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways both serve it. The pre-dawn departure is characteristic of this route: north Aegean sailings are scheduled around the long overnight runs to and from Piraeus rather than around daylight. The town wraps around two harbours below a Genoese castle, and the ferry quay sits in the middle of the waterfront. Lesvos is the third largest Greek island and the source of most of the country's ouzo, produced in Plomari on the southern coast.
