The pier takes its name from the lock it serves. Kallosluis stands at the Kallo lock complex on the left bank, and its two water connections pull in opposite directions — one deeper into the port, one back towards the built-up bank.

Downstream lies Liefkenshoek, 1.8 nautical miles and 17 minutes away, with 109 departures a week from this side. Upstream, Zwijndrecht is 1.2 nautical miles off and takes 7 minutes outbound, 8 minutes on the return, with 110 sailings each way. The first boat of the day leaves for Liefkenshoek at 05:06; the Zwijndrecht leg starts later, at 05:22, but keeps going until 23:22.

Because both legs belong to the same DeWaterbus network, they share its three-calendar habit: Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday are each timetabled separately. The weekday sheet is the dense one — this is a commuter pier for the industrial left bank, not a leisure stop.
