Ferries from Hysværøyan hurtigbåtkai

Hysværøyan is a group of small islands in the Vega archipelago, reached by four sailings between 15:35 and 20:55, twenty minutes from Gardsøya. Vega is a UNESCO World Heritage site, inscribed for the eider down harvesting tradition — islanders built shelters for the ducks and collected the down after nesting, a practice that shaped the whole archipelago's settlement. The boats here run in the afternoon and evening only. The eider houses on these islands are still maintained, and a small number of families continue the down harvest each summer. Gardsøya on Vega is the transfer quay for the archipelago's boats and the road across the main island.
