Ferries from Hingham Ferry Terminal (HING)

Hingham's island boats are a summer service and the timetable says so: 5 to 6 sailings a week to Georges Island, 4.0 nautical miles away at 27 to 28 minutes, and the same to Peddocks Island at 2.7 nautical miles and 34 to 35 minutes.

Everything runs between 09:00 and 17:15. There is nothing early and nothing late, because there is nothing to be early or late for.

Georges Island holds Fort Warren, a granite Civil War fortification that served as a prison for Confederate officers; Peddocks has the remains of Fort Andrews and a handful of private cottages. Both are part of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area. The same terminal also serves the year-round commuter boat to Boston — a different operator, a different purpose and a very different timetable.
