Ferries from Hellmobotn hurtigbåtkai

Hellmobotn is at the head of a fjord arm in Tysfjord, reached by four sailings between 14:05 and 20:10, forty minutes to Musken. This is one of the most isolated inhabited places in Norway: there is no road, and the mountains behind it rise to the Swedish border, where the distance from the fjord to Sweden is the narrowest point in the whole country. Musken is a Lule Sami community, also without road access, served by the same boat. The path from Hellmobotn over the border to Sweden is an old Sami migration route, and the distance from fjord to frontier is about six kilometres. Musken is a Lule Sami village with no road, and the same boat serves both settlements on its run.
