Ferries from Forsand hurtigbåtkai

Forsand faces two very different journeys. Lauvvik is 1.1 nautical miles across the water at five minutes; Bratteli is 8.6 miles up the fjord, and the boat does it in 20 — the quickest long leg in this timetable.

Thirteen sailings a week on the Bratteli run and up to sixteen on the Lauvvik shuttle, starting at 05:55 and finishing at 19:25, on three or four day patterns.

Forsand is at the mouth of Lysefjorden, where the fjord opens into Høgsfjorden, and it is the point most traffic into the fjord passes through. The Lauvvik crossing is a road link in everything but name — two piers a mile apart on either side of the water, with a five-minute boat instead of a bridge that was never built.
