About

About Dunkirk

From Dunkirk, four ferry routes connect France with both England and Ireland across the English Channel and the Celtic Sea. This port in the Hauts-de-France region provides passenger and freight services operated exclusively by DFDS. The shortest crossing is the two-hour sailing to Dover, a primary link across the Strait of Dover.

Dunkirk Ferry Routes

DFDS manages the high-frequency route to Dover, a key connection for traffic heading to the United Kingdom. The operator also runs a much longer direct service to Rosslare in Ireland. This route avoids the UK land bridge and involves a sailing time of approximately 23 hours.

The Port of Dunkirk is France's third-largest port and sits on the coast of the North Sea. All ferry services from here are international. The terminal is situated a short distance east of the city centre, with clear road access for vehicles boarding the DFDS ferries.
