Coron sits exactly halfway in time between two ports 13 hours apart in either direction. Manila is 780 minutes north, leaving at 20:30; Puerto Princesa is 780 minutes south, leaving at 09:30. Arrivals come in at 04:30 from the south and 17:30 from the north.

The harbour is on Busuanga in the Calamian group, north of Palawan proper. The bay outside it holds a Japanese supply fleet sunk by US carrier aircraft in September 1944, now in shallow enough water to have made Coron one of the best-known wreck-diving destinations in Asia. Most of the passengers on the overnight boat, though, are simply going home.
