About Tuule Liinid
Tuule Liinid is the private Estonian operator that runs the ferry lifeline to Ruhnu, a tiny, remote island in the Gulf of Riga. Based at Muratsi on Saaremaa, it took over the Ruhnu service in 2022 from Kihnu Veeteed and runs it as a state-tendered public-service route.
The Ruhnu line
Ruhnu is reached from three harbours, changing with the season: Pärnu–Ruhnu and Munalaid–Ruhnu on the mainland side, and Roomassaare–Ruhnu from Saaremaa. It is a seasonal passenger and light-cargo service, roughly spring to autumn, that keeps the small island community connected to both the mainland and Saaremaa.
Vessel and fares
The route is worked by the small Estonian-built catamaran Runö (in service since 2012), which carries passengers and a handful of vehicles or palletised cargo. Fares are in euros, with reduced tickets for eligible island residents on this subsidised connection. (Estonia's high-volume big-island routes, Virtsu–Kuivastu and Rohuküla–Heltermaa, are run by a different operator, TS Laevad.)
