Torghatten Sør runs the Horten–Moss ferry, the busiest single crossing of the Oslofjord and one of the heaviest-used ferry routes in Norway. It is a road link in all but name: the alternative is a long drive around the head of the fjord or through the Oslofjord tunnel.

The crossing takes about 35 minutes and runs roughly 107 times a day in each direction — a departure every 15 to 30 minutes for most of the day, and through the night at reduced frequency. That volume is why no reservation system exists: vehicles queue on the quay and board the next available sailing.
The route connects Vestfold on the western shore with Østfold on the eastern, joining the E18 and E6 corridors. Traffic peaks on Friday afternoons and Sunday evenings, and around public holidays the queue rather than the timetable determines how long you wait.
Practical points
Because sailings are frequent, missing one costs minutes rather than hours — but at peak times the queue can span several departures, so allow more than the crossing time itself. Foot passengers and cyclists are carried alongside vehicles.
