Devonport to Geelong
Its ferries cross Bass Strait between Devonport in Tasmania and Geelong, near Melbourne — a crossing of around 9 to 11 hours, usually overnight, with day sailings too. The mainland terminal moved from Port Melbourne to a purpose-built quay at Geelong in 2022. The ferries carry cars, campervans, freight and foot passengers.
Fleet and onboard
The two current ships, Spirit of Tasmania I and II, entered service on the strait in 2002, offering en-suite cabins, reclining seats, restaurants and a cinema.
