About

About Park Island Transport Company

Park Island Transport Company (PITCL) operates the residents' ferries serving Ma Wan, the small island between Tsing Yi and Lantau that is home to the Park Island housing estate and the Noah's Ark attraction. Founded in 2002 and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties — the estate's developer — PITCL is, along with the estate buses, the only way on and off an island with no public road link.

Two mainland crossings

High-speed catamarans — Park Island 3, 5, 7 and 8 — run from the Park Island pier at Pak Lai Road across to Central Pier 2 in a little over 20 minutes, the primary commuter route, roughly every half-hour at peak. A second, sparser service makes the short hop to Tsuen Wan in the New Territories — a route dropped in 2012 and reinstated after resident pressure.

Fares

The adult fare to Central is HK$36.00 and to Tsuen Wan HK$12.00, with half-price travel for over-65s and resident discounts. Weekday sailings were adjusted in 2025–2026 amid a service-reduction dispute, so it is worth checking live times before travelling.
