About
About Norled AS
Norled is one of Norway's largest ferry and express-boat operators, running scheduled car ferries and fast passenger boats along the fjord coast from the Oslofjord to Troms. Based in Stavanger with roots in the 19th-century Stavangerske steamship company, it took the Norled name around 2011 and is a world leader in green ferries.
Fjord crossings and express boats
Norled operates dozens of county- and state-contracted crossings — car ferries (ferje) linking the shores of the fjords and fast passenger boats (hurtigbåt) reaching islands and coastal towns — across Rogaland, Vestland, Møre og Romsdal, Trøndelag and beyond, plus scenic tourist express routes such as Bergen–Flåm on the Sognefjord.
Green pioneer
Norled made maritime history with MF Ampere, the world's first battery-electric car ferry (2015), and MF Hydra, the world's first liquid-hydrogen ferry (2023). Its fleet numbers around 80 vessels. Car-ferry fares are billed in Norwegian kroner through the national AutoPASS system.
