About NLM
Navigazione Lago Maggiore (NLM) runs the scheduled boats and car ferry on Lake Maggiore, the great cross-border lake shared by Italy and Switzerland. It is the Lake Maggiore arm of Italy's state lake-navigation body, Gestione Governativa Navigazione Laghi, which has run the service under public management since 1948.

Its fleet calls at lakeside towns and resorts including Stresa, Arona, Pallanza, Intra, Laveno, Cannobio, Luino and Maccagno, and across the Swiss border at Locarno, as well as the famous Borromean Islands. Alongside the tourist passenger boats, it operates the lake's only vehicle crossing, the Intra–Laveno car ferry.
