Jumbo Ferry (ジャンボフェリー) runs a budget-friendly car-and-passenger ferry across the Seto Inland Sea in Japan, linking the port city of Kobe with Takamatsu on Shikoku. The service began in 1969, and the present company took it over in 2003 from the Katō group.
Kobe to Takamatsu
Its main route connects Kobe on Honshu with Takamatsu East Port on Shikoku in about four hours, with day and overnight sailings, and some services also call at the "olive island" of Shōdoshima. It is one of the most affordable ways to cross between the two islands with a car.
Fleet and fares
The flagship Aoi, a modern 5,200-ton ship, entered service in 2022 alongside the older Ritsurin 2. Onboard there is a café serving local Sanuki udon and open decks. Fares are low and priced in Japanese yen — around ¥1,990 for an adult one-way — booked online.
