Innlandstrafikk is the public transport authority for Innlandet county in eastern Norway — buses, school transport and demand-responsive services, planned through the national Entur journey planner.
Randsfjordferja — the country's only year-round inland ferry
Its one ferry is the Elrond, crossing Randsfjorden between Tangen and Horn in eight minutes. It is, the authority notes, Norway's only inland ferry operating all year round — every other lake crossing in the country is seasonal.
It is free, and it is a road
The crossing costs nothing. It connects county road 34 with county road 245, which is the clearest statement of what it is: a stretch of public road that happens to float. It has carried people and vehicles across the fjord since 1969, and matters most to the community at Bjoneroa, to commuters, and to school traffic.
It waits for the bus — but only so long
The ferry holds for connecting buses a maximum of five minutes. Published, specific, and the sort of thing that decides whether a connection is worth planning around.
