Exas Schedules 2026

Exas is not a shipping line. It is a family travel and shipping agency on Kos, founded in 1965 by the late Manos Tyrinopoulos and expanded from 1990 by his son Spyros — one of the older names in Greek travel services. It appears in ferry listings because it runs the daily excursion across to Bodrum and sells tickets for most of the boats that call at Kos.

General agent, not carrier

Exas acts as central agent for a series of Greek operators: Dodekanisos Seaways since 2000, Yeşil Marmaris Lines since 2011, Blue Star Ferries since 2017, and — following their acquisitions in 2018 and 2024 — Hellenic Seaways and ANEK Lines. In total it works with more than 35 shipping companies from an office of 16-odd staff, covering domestic Greek routes and international ones between Italy, Greece and Turkey, freight included. It is a member of FedHATTA, the Greek travel agents' federation.

The Kos–Bodrum day trip

This is the part that concerns most visitors. The crossing to Bodrum is now advertised at 15 minutes on a new fast catamaran — considerably quicker than the half-hour the conventional boats take on the same water. Two details make the day easier than it sounds:

• The ship berths at Bodrum Cruise Port, a newer terminal where passport control does not queue the way it does at the castle quay.
• A free shuttle runs from the cruise port into Bodrum town and the market, returning in the afternoon.
• Hotel pick-up on the Kos side and return is available for a €7 surcharge.

Where to find them

The main office is at 10 Vasileos Georgiou in Kos town, with separate desks at the main Kos port for domestic departures and at the international quay. The agency also sells excursions beyond Turkey — a three-island cruise and an afternoon run to the volcano at Nisyros among them.

Booking a Greece–Turkey crossing

Passports are required in both directions and a Turkish port tax is added on arrival. Because several companies work the Kos–Bodrum strait and the agencies sell across all of them, check which vessel and which quay your ticket names: Bodrum has more than one berth, with sailings from Bodrum Kale Port, Bodrum Cruise Port and, on some days, Turgutreis D-Marin further west.

The full excursion programme, and when each runs

Bodrum is the headline trip but not the only one, and the seasons differ — worth knowing if you are on Kos outside high summer. All five are day trips of about eight hours:

• Kos → Bodrum and Bodrum → Kos — May to October
• Three-island cruise (Kalymnos, Pserimos, Plati) — June to October, the shortest season of the five
• Nisyros volcano, morning departure — May to October
• Nisyros volcano, afternoon departure — May to October

The volcano runs twice a day in two separate slots rather than as one long tour, so it can be paired with a morning or an afternoon elsewhere.

The agency answers on +30 22420 29900 and at info@exas.gr, and its site runs in Greek, English and Turkish — the third of those is unusual among Greek agencies and reflects how much of the Kos–Bodrum traffic originates on the Turkish side. Hotel pick-up points are published for the Kos excursions.

What it can and cannot sell you

Through its booking engine Exas sells tickets across Greece, Turkey and Italy — the port list runs from Piraeus and the Cyclades through Ayvalık, Çeşme and Didim to Bari, Ancona and Sardinia, and on to Barcelona and Algeciras. What it does not do is operate those ships. If a sailing is delayed or cancelled, the carrier named on your ticket sets the terms, not the agency that sold it.
