About

About Coral Sea Ferry Service

Coral Sea Ferry Service (珊瑚海船務) runs one of Hong Kong's last all-wooden kai-to fleets, crossing the eastern end of Victoria Harbour from Sai Wan Ho on Hong Kong Island. Established in 1992, the company took over the crossing from the former Hongkong & Yaumati Ferry and has kept these characterful timber boats — Coral Sea 8, 8A, 18 and 18A — running ever since.

Two eastern crossings, plus Tung Lung Chau

The busiest line links Sai Wan Ho with Sam Ka Tsuen, the pier for the Lei Yue Mun seafood village, in about ten minutes — a favourite evening run for diners. A second boat crosses to Kwun Tong in Kowloon. At weekends Coral Sea also serves the rugged rock-climbing island of Tung Lung Chau, from both Sam Ka Tsuen and the Shau Kei Wan typhoon shelter.

Fares

The Sai Wan Ho crossings cost about HK$9 for adults (HK$4.5 concession), paid by Octopus or exact cash; the weekend Tung Lung Chau boats cost more. Times differ between the operator's site and the Transport Department listings, so check the live source before travelling.
