About
About Coral Sea Ferry Service
Coral Sea Ferry works the eastern side of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, running two cross-harbour routes from Sai Wan Ho plus services out to Tung Lung Chau, the island off Clear Water Bay known for its sea cliffs and rock climbing.
Sai Wan Ho to Kwun Tong — every half hour
Departures leave Sai Wan Ho from 07:03 to 21:40 and Kwun Tong from 06:48 to 21:18, at half-hourly intervals. Two extra sailings run weekdays only, at 08:18 and 08:48 from Sai Wan Ho — not on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.
Sai Wan Ho to Sam Ka Tsuen
The Lei Yue Mun route runs more frequently and later: Sai Wan Ho from 07:12 to 22:45, Sam Ka Tsuen from 07:00 to 22:30.
Fares, and where you pay them
HK$9 for an adult; HK$4.50 for a child under 12 or under 90 cm, for a senior of 65 and over, and for a passenger with a disability. Holders of the Elder Octopus card and eligible disabled Octopus holders travel on the $2 concessionary fare. ID may be requested when a concession fare is paid.
One operational quirk matters: on the Kwun Tong route the fare is collected at Sai Wan Ho pier in both directions, by Octopus or cash into a box — with no change given.
Weather closes this route often
Sailings stop under a No. 8 typhoon signal and under black rainstorm warnings, with separate suspension and resumption notices each time. Ferry service to the new Lei Yue Mun pier was discontinued in July 2026.
